The exceptional beaches Agathopes and Galissas have nothing to envy from beaches of other islands. All Syros beaches are beautiful, clean with plenty of shade from trees and/or umbrellas, as there is no beach without some free municipal umbrellas. Most of them and the more easily accessible are found at the south part of the island which is the more developed one. - Armeos (West Syros): This is a small quiet beach in a narrow opening between the rocks, very close to Galissa beach. It is sometimes referred to as Agia Pakou due to the homonymous little church standing on the gill. It can be reached through a path that starts from Galissa beach, while it is quiet likely that you will find some nudists swimming here. The beach has sand with pebble and a few trees.
- Galissas (West Syros): Galissas if the most famous tourist resort of Syros and its beach one of the most popular. The endless strip of sand stretches along the bay offering calm sea and plenty of tamarisks that provide shade. This is the longest beach of Syros and you will find it at the southwest, while near by you will find countless rooms to let, taverns and beach bars.
- Lotos (West Syros): A delightful beach found next to Kini beach, sharing the same bay. It has shallow sea, lovely light sand and many large trees along the coast. There is a tavern and some straw umbrellas which are however totally unnecessary.
- Kini (West Syros): A long beach with nice golden sand and several tamarisk trees. The beach is equipped with straw umbrellas, sunbeds, taverns and rooms to let lying close by. You will find it at the west at the height of Ermoupoli. Seek out the fountain shaped like a mermaid holding in its arms a shipwrecked sailor, as it is really worth shooting!
- Delfini (West Syros): A large curved coast forming an S at the northwest, a bit north of Kini. This lovely beach is rather popular despite the slightly hard access, as it is accessible through a dirt road. It is divided in two parts, the southern one with large pebbles and the northern one with sand. It offers clean sea, parking space, a tavern and rooms to let. At the northern side of the beach, in front of the tavern, there are some straw umbrellas.
- Komito (Southwest Syros): A scenic and secluded beach found a bit south of Agathopes beach, with which it is connected via a path. It is an ideal solution for those who seek quiet while offering sand with pebble, a few straw umbrellas and a few trees.
- Agkathopes (Southwest Syros): A large beautiful beach with light sand at the south edge of the island, a bit after Finikas. It is one of the most famous beaches of Syros as it offers easy access, shallow sea, a few tamarisks and some straw umbrellas.
- Finikas (Southwest Syros): This beach is at Finikas bay at the southwest. It is one of the most popular beaches of Syros with easy access, calm sea, lovely sand, many tamarisk trees for shade and a few taverns.
- Posidonia (Southwest Syros): A wide stretch of sand and pebble with many tamarisks at the southwest of the island. It is organized with some straw umbrellas, plenty of parking space, taverns, etc.
- Azolimnos (Southeast Syros): A relatively small but rapidly developing sandy beach with transparent waters and tamarisk trees along the coast, located at the southeast of the island. Not very far you will find several taverns and rooms to let.
- Vari (Southeast Syros): An organized beach with calm sea thanks to the enclosed bay that shelters it from the wind, a bit before Megas Gialos beach. It is relatively large but it gets narrow at some points due to the touristic buildings. The beach gets a lot of people and families while being equipped with a beach bar, taverns and rooms to let. Right beside it lies the small sandy beach Achladi for those who would rather avoid the crowds.
- Megas Gialos (South Syros): A long and narrow stretch of nice sand and many large tamarisks. It offers transparent shallow sea and a few straw umbrellas along the beach, while you will rarely find it empty. It is situated at the south coast of the island, a bit after Vari.
- Ampela (South Syros): This small beach is found south, a bit after Megas Gialos. It offers sand, clean sea, a clump of tamarisks and 3-4 straw umbrellas. Right behind the beach there is a tavern and a few rooms to let, while the asphalt road leads right to the edge of the beach.
- Ahladi (South Syros): A small beach in walking distance from Vari beach that is equally wind-free as it is located in the same bay. Most people coming here are from the beach hotel while there is also a tavern.
- Grias Spilia (North Syros): A beautiful small and secluded beach at the north edge of the island, right in the middle of nowhere. It is also known as American Beach because of the American economist John Pearson who lived here for many years (his house can be seen at the top of the hill) planting many trees and thus turning his area into a small green oasis. The beach is ideal for those who wish to be alone as the beach can only be accessed by sea. It has crystal clean turquoise water, sand with little thin pebble and some tamarisks.
- Lia (North Syros): A lovely long beach at the north edge of the island, a bit south of Gria Spilia. It has a strip of large white pebbles followed by a strip of light-colored sand right before the sea. You can get here by only boat, so do not be surprised if you find yourself alone on the beach.
