Beaches Of Samos


Samos has many beaches that can satisfy any visitor. These beaches are distributed all over the island with the most popular being Mikro Seitani and Megalo Seitani. Most beaches are found in verdant landscapes.
  • Kampos of Marathokampos / Votsalakia (Southwest Samos): A large organized beach with nice sand at the southwest part of Samos. It attracts a lot of people but it is so large that you are bound to find a quiet corner to settle down. In the surrounding area there are cafeterias and taverns, while the beach is easily accessible.
  • Psili Ammos of Marathokampos / Chrysi Ammos (Southwest Samos): You will find it close to Marathokampos, at the foot of a tall verdant mountain and it is one of the most beautiful beaches of Samos. It is a long stretch of sand with clean shallow sea which is partly organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and a beach bar.
  • Limnionas (Southwest Samos): A cute quite beach with sand and pebble close to Marathokampos. It is equipped with few umbrellas, sunbeds and a tavern. It is ideal for peace and relaxation as besides from the few people it lies in a verdant landscape.
  • Pythagorio (Southeast Samos): A large organized beach with pebble and some tamarisk trees located close to Pythagorio. It has some umbrellas, sunbeds and clean blue sea.
  • Potokaki (Southeast Samos): A large organized beach, favored mostly by young people. It offers large pebbles, crystal sea, taverns and watersports. You will find it close to Pythagorio.
  • Glykoriza (Southeast Samos): A small narrow beach a bit east of Pythagorio with pebble and many trees along the coast. The beach is usually filled with umbrellas, sunbeds and people, while also having a beach bar. Right behind the beach there is a large hotel unit.
  • Heraion (South Samos): An organized stretch of sand at the Heraion village with some large white pebbles, umbrellas, sunbeds, a beach bar and taverns.
  • Tsopela (South Samos): A small and narrow beach with pebble and many trees along the coast. You will find it on a piece of land going into the sea, in a pine-filled location as is the route with the dirt road leading here.
  • Megalo Seitani (Northwest Samos): A unique beach of great natural beauty which is considered to be the best beach of Samos. It has stunning turquoise water and white sand with pebble, while being surrounded by pine-filled hills with the trees almost reaching the sea. You will find it at the northwest edge of Samos, west of Karlovasi, at a rather inaccessible area that requires more than one hour of walking, so you should rather get there by sea.
  • Mikro Seitani (Northwest Samos): A bit east of Megalo Seitani lies the Mikro Seitani beach. It is a small and extremely scenic pebbled beach with shallow sea which is hidden in a small recess formed by the imposing rocky mountains. Being there feels like being detached from the rest of the world.
  • Potami (Northwest Samos): A large beach with white pebble and turquoise sea at the northwest of Samos, between Mikro Seitani and Karlovasi. The lovely beach is easily accessible but it is exposed to northern winds. When seen from high above it forms the letter E as there is a strip of land at the middle of the beach connecting it with a large rock in the sea. Not far from here are the famous waterfalls, so you can combine your swim with a visit there.
  • Gagkou (Northwest Samos): An organized beach located in the same bay and very close to Vathy. It has pebble and clean sea, while offering many umbrellas, sunbeds, rooms to let, taverns and a beach bar.
  • Livadaki (Northeast Samos): A well-hidden exotic little beach with light sand and amazing sea located at the northeast, close to Agia Paraskevi. The beach is in a small narrow bay, surrounded by mountains, creating a special atmosphere. The beach has straw umbrellas, sunbeds and bars. To reach it you have to drive along a smooth dirt road for several minutes.
  • Svala (North Samos): A long and wide beach with large pebbles and deep water. It is located north, close to Agios Kostantinos village.
  • Kokkari (North Samos): A small beach with white pebble and turquoise sea, and at its edge a large rock connected with the coast. The beach offers some umbrellas and sunbeds, while far back you can see the imposing mountains. Kokkari is a small fishing village that has evolved into a tourist resort.
  • Kerveli (East Samos): Quiet beach with white pebble at the east edge of Samos. It has nice clean sea and tamarisk trees for shade found at one side. It offers a nice view from above while you are approaching it through the road.
  • Klima (East Samos): A small organized beach with large pebbles and trees along the coast. It offers clean crystal sea and a good fish tavern. You will find it at the southeast edge of Samos.
  • Posidonio (East Samos): A scenic beach with thin white pebble and several trees along the coast. On the beach there are some sunbeds and the area has a lot of green.
  • Psili Ammos (East Samos): A nice beach with thin sand, as its name suggests, and very shallow sea, ideal for families with little kids. The beach is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds, while there are also some taverns around. You will find it east of Pythagorio.
  • Tsampou (East Samos): A north beach located east of Vathy, a bit after Kokkari. It is a large beach with white pebble and deep blue sea inside an open bay. It is equipped with several umbrellas, sunbeds, a small canteen and plenty of parking space. Like all northern beaches it is not suitable for swimming when it gets windy.
  • Tsamadou (East Samos): This pebbled beach with its green-blue water is just outside Kokkari. It is an organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, canteen and taverns but it is exposed to the winds, while its one edge is a nudist hang. You can reach the beach trough a narrow downhill pine-filled path with many steps.
  • Lemonakia (East Samos): A great beach with white pebble and green-blue sea. The narrow coast is fully covered with umbrellas and sunbeds, while on its edge there is a tavern. It is in an area with rich vegetation, close to Tsamadou beach.
