Beaches Of Halki

Halki has very few and small, but nonetheless fantastic beaches with crystal clear waters. Those which are not close to Nimporio are easily accessible by sea with boats.
  • Ftenagia (Southeast Halki): A small rocky beach that would be of no interest if it were not for its stunning turquoise sea. The beach is located at the southeast edge of the island, close to Nimporio, and there is a tavern nearby. To get there you will have to walk down a path that starts behind the church of Agia Ekaterini.
  • Giali (South Halki): A small unorganized beach with white pebble and crystal sea. It is situated at the south side of the island and you can get there by walking down the road that starts from Palio Chorio which is in poor condition, or by boat.
  • Trahia (South Halki): At the Trahia peninsula you will come across an impressive scenery, as the thin strip of land that connect the peninsula with the rest of Halki has the sea at both its sides. The two beaches that are formed are only accessible by boat.
  • Areta (Northeast Halki): Areta is a small beach with large white pebbles and turquoise waters, while being surrounded by tall rocks which are your only hope for some shade. You can only get there by sea.
  • Pontamos (East Halki): A small narrow beach, the most popular of Halki, as it offers thin white sand and easy access. This is the only sandy beach of the island and it is only a short walk from the harbor. There are not trees on the beach, but you will find umbrellas, sunbeds and a tavern at its edge.
  • Kania (East Halki): A small scenic beach with pebble and some large trees. You can find it at the northern coast of the island, close to the fish farms. The beach has no tourist infrastructure, but it has easy access through the asphalt road.
