The beaches are not the strong point of
Symi, as most of them are small and only accessible by sea or by plenty of walking. However, they are scenic beaches with crystal water and pure beauty untouched by tourism.
- Agios Emilianos (West Symi): You can hardly call it a beach, as it is a small piece of land with gravel and rocks. However, it is worth a visit to admire a rare sight: the church of Agios Emilianos on a small islet connected to the coast through a narrow strip of cement.
- Agios Vasilios (West Symi): A peaceful and scenic beach with large rocks scattered here and there. It has dark sand and some trees a bit far from the sea, while being surrounded by tall rocky mountains. It is located in the homonymous bay at the east of the island, southwest of Chorio, and it is only accessible by sea.
- Nanou (Southeast Symi): A fantastic beach with large white pebbles and green-blue water, one of the most scenic of the island. There are a lot of trees in the area, a tavern, some umbrellas and some sunbeds. You will find it at the southeast, a bit north of Marathounta.
- Marathounta (South Symi): It is at the south edge of the island with an east orientation and easy road access. The narrow bay protects the beach from the winds, while the beach is equipped with crystal water and white pebble. There are no trees here, but there are some umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as a tavern.
- Panormitis (South Symi): A wind-free little sandy beach with a little pebble, ideal for those visiting the monastery. You will find it at the south edge of the island where the road ends, while nearby you can find whatever you may need.
- Sesklia (South Symi): Sesklia is a neighboring small island south of Symi. It has one small pebble beach, clean sea and many large trees along the coast. On your right hand, facing the sea, is a small platform.
- Toli (South Symi): A small picturesque beach with pebble, crystal sea and a couple of oleanders. You will find it south but you can only reach it by sea.
- Nimporio (Northwest Symi): An unorganized beach with thin pebble located in the Agia Marina village, northwest. This is one of the few beaches that you can get to using the road.
- Pedi (Northeast Symi): A small beach in a highly protected bay that attracts a lot of people, as it easily reached by car. It has transparent calm sea, umbrellas, sunbeds and shops. From here there are boats departing for the rest of Symi's beaches.
- Agia Marina (Northeast Symi): A small beach at the northeast edge of the island. It offers calm turquoise sea, while right across the bay you can see the islet with the church of Agia Marina on its top. It is an organized beach with sunbeds, umbrellas and a tavern.
- Nos (North Symi): This is one of the most popular beaches of Symi as it is in walking range from the harbor. It is a narrow beach with sand and little pebble, and it offers deep blue sea. It is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, while there is also a canteen.
- Agios Georgios Dysalonas (East Symi): A delightful pebble beach with turquoise water that is considered to be the best on the island. It is an impressive scenery as the beach lies at the foot of a tall steep mountain, while there are some pine trees around. You will find it in a bay at the east, a bit south of Pedi.
- Agios Nikolaos (East Symi): A small organized stretch of sand with many trees that almost reach the sea, offering their shade. The clean shallow sea is cold, while there is a small tavern on the coast. It is located in the same bay with Pedi, from which you can get here by boat or by a 3o minute walk.
