On
Naxos there is distinct variety of white sand which makes its beaches unique. Most of the beaches are sandy and long, but the are also few with thin pebbles.
- Agios Giorgos (West Naxos): Right next to Naxos town lies the sandy beach of Agios Giorgos. It is ideal for families with little children due to the swallow sea and it is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds.
- Agios Prokopios (West Naxos): The most popular beach of Naxos is Agios Prokopios, which is only ten minutes from Naxos town. It has very thin pebble which resembles to sand and it does not stick on your feet. It is an organized beach with shops and water sports.
- Agia Anna (West Naxos): Similar beach to Agios Prokopios, as it is its extensions. The cedar forest will draw your attention.
- Plaka (West Naxos): A very long organized beach with fine white sand and turquoise sea which is the continuation of Agia Anna and Plaka beaches. The sandhills here are a nice sight, while there are lots of shops and taverns on the road. Better stay at the beginning of the beach, as down the road there are nudists.
- Orkos (West Naxos): A quiet beach made up of consecutive small bays.
- Mikri Vigla (West Naxos): Heading to Alyko you will come across the sandy beach of Mikri Vigla, which is ideal for surfer fans.
- Kastraki (Southwest Naxos): A large beautiful beach with some vegetation and several straw umbrellas.
- Alykos - Pyrgaki - Agiassos (Southwest Naxos): Consecutive sandy beaches which are rarely crowded. There is only limited tourist infrastructure here.
- Panormos (South Naxos): This is the most remote beach of Naxos, as it can only be reached through the east side of the island. Its trademarks are the palm trees and the famous cantine.
- Apollonas - Amitis (North Naxos): Two northern beaches with sand, but they are not best for swimming when there are strong winds.
- Psili Ammos (East Naxos): On west Naxos lies Psili Ammos, a long beautiful beach with golden sand.
- Azalas - Moutsouna (East Naxos): Two cute little beaches with pebble. Besides the clean sea, they are nothing special.
