Beaches Of Leros

The largest bay of Leros is the one of Lakki found southwest, one of the safest natural harbors in the Mediterranean. The largest sandy beach is in the Gournes bay, while Lakki bay hosts cosmopolitan beaches, like Koulouki but also more quiet like Merikia. There are daily boat trips starting from Agia Marina with stops on Leros inaccessible beaches and the surrounding islets.
  • Gourna (West Leros): A large lovely sandy beach with shallow sea, ideal for families with little kids. The sand is dark with little pebble while there are countless tamarisks. The beach offers few sunbeds with umbrellas, taverns, a canteen and rooms to let. You will find it at the west side of Leros, not far from Agia Marina.
  • Merikia (Southwest Leros): Near Koulouki, a bit west of Lakki, lies this tranquil beach. It has pebble, crystal sea and large trees for shade. If you go further on you will come across even more small quiet beaches.
  • Xirokampos (South Leros): An organized beach located in a closed bay, at the southern point of Leros. It is a large stretch of sand with tamarisk trees, rooms to let, taverns and shops.
  • Alinta (Northeast Leros): A long and narrow beach, one of the most popular of Leros with a lot of youth. It offers sand with thin pebble, umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports and countless tamarisk trees along the coast. In the area there are a lot of shops, beach bar, taverns and rooms to let.
  • Panagies (Northeast Leros): Two consecutive small beaches right under the road. They are hosted by a closed bay, located close to Alinta, and they offer calm sea but little natural shade. Next to the beach you will see the homonymous little church.
  • Dyo Liskaria (Northeast Leros): A long and narrow stretch of sand with calm sea that attracts young crowds, found right in front of the road. It is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, a tavern and some tamarisks along the coast. You will find it north, a bit further down Alinta.
  • Mplefoutis (North Leros): A long narrow beach with sand and thin pebble. It is quiet with large tamarisks along the coast and few taverns, while down the road there are more small secluded beaches. You will find it a bit east of Partheni, on the north side of Leros.
  • Agia Kioura (North Leros): This is the northern of Leros beaches. It is a nice and scenic beach located right under the church of Agia Kioura, following the dirt road. It offers pebble and crystal sea, while there are also a few tamarisk trees for shade.
  • Krithoni (East Leros): A beautiful clean beach located right next to Agia Marina. It has sand with little pebble, clean blue sea and it is in an area with plenty of vegetation. There are few umbrellas with sunbeds and some taverns nearby.
  • Kryfos (East Leros): A small and very scenic beach with pebble and turquoise sea, hidden right between the rocks. Thanks to its position it is ideal for isolation, as it is only accessible with boat from Agia Marina or with a great deal of walking. It lies a bit east of Alinta, after Panagies.
  • Panteli (East Leros): The great beach at the picturesque fishing village of Panteli has golden sand and crystal sea. There are a few umbrellas and many tamarisk trees, while thanks to the village the beach has access to rooms to let, taverns and shops just a stone's throw away.
  • Vromolithos (East Leros): One of the most cosmopolitan beaches of Leros which is a bit south of Panteli. It is an organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, beach bar, taverns and rooms to let, while offering golden sand, clean sea and some tamarisks.
  • Koulouki (East Leros): There are three consecutive narrow beaches that gather large crowds thanks to the nice sand, the calm green-blue sea and the pine filled hills. On one of these beaches you will find a tavern.
