Beaches Of Kimolos

Kimolos has a lot of wonderful beaches. For even better desolate beaches with turquoise water you can get the boat to the nearby island Polyegos.
  • Dekas - Ellinika (Southwest Kimolos): Two continuous beaches with sand and pebble at the southwest, very quiet and peaceful. You can access these beaches through a dirt road.
  • Mavrospilia (Southwest Kimolos): A large stretch of light sand with little pebble and no natural shade. On the left side of the beach there are tall rocks coming out of the sea, making for a gorgeous sight.
  • Psathi (Southeast Kimolos): A large beach laid with sand and pebble. Although it is next to the harbor the sea is very clean, while there are also several tamarisks and taverns.
  • Rema (Southeast Kimolos): A very small wind-free beach close to Chora, right next to Goupa village. It offers pebble, a little shade from trees, and a great view to Syrmata.
  • Alyki (South Kimolos): A large beach at the south with sand and little pebble that attracts a lot of people, being one of the most popular beaches on Kimolos. It offers calm shallow sea, a tavern and some tamarisk trees, which are however further back, away from the sea.
  • Mponatsa (South Kimolos): An endless beach with clean shallow water and many tamarisk trees. It is one of the best beaches on Kimolos and it is found at the south coast, where it is protected from the wind.
  • Kalamitsi (South Kimolos): A big in length but not in width sandy beach with very few pebbles and many tamarisks. You will find it south, right next to Mponatsa beach, offering clean, blue and calm water.
  • Prasa / Ai Giorgis (Northeast Kimolos): This is with no doubt the best beach of Kimolos, as it has white sand and stunning blue water. It is rather large in size with a few tamarisk trees at one side. You should come here early to get a good spot because this beach gets extremely crowded. The beach is also called Ai Giorgis due to the homonymous church that lies there. Right next to the beach there are hot springs, do not miss them!
  • Monastiria - Soufi (North Kimolos): Scenic and quiet beaches with thick light sand and little thin pebble. The first beach you encounter is Monastiria which have no shade at all, but with a bit more walking you can reach Soufi with many trees and a calm sea. The road to these beaches is rough so you might consider coming here by sea with a boat ride.
  • Klima (East Kimolos): This picturesque beach has sand and pebble at points. On the one side there are a lot of tamarisk trees for shade while the central road is right behind the beach. The only drawback of the beach is its exposure to the winds.
