Ikaria has many beaches for every taste, but the best of them are found on the north side of the island.
- Seychelles (South Ikaria): A wonderful beach of exotic beauty that you must visit, although the name Seychelles may be a little too much. This is an artificial beach created by the opening of a tunnel, at the south side of the island. It has marvelous white sand with beautiful big white pebbles and turquoise calm sea. The beach is surrounded by impressive huge rocks that cast their shade most of the day. The only downside is the difficult up to dangerous climbing down that is required to reach the beach by land, but you can always come by sea using the boat.
- Nas (Northwest Ikaria): A small beautiful beach northwest, in a verdant area, which is enclosed by two rocky hills. It is not organized but it has sand and nice blue water, while the scenery is special thanks to the river that flows right next to the beach. Nas is particularly popular with nudists and free camping fans. Here you will find attractions like the waterfalls and the ruins of the ancient temple of Artemis.
- Iero (Northeast Ikaria): This small beach is in a long and narrow bay close to Faros, and it is ideal for quiet. It has sand with pebble, crystal sea, but no natural shade and of course no tourist facilities.
- Mesakti / Mesahti (North Ikaria): One of the most beautiful beaches of Ikaria, with lovely sand and blue sea. It is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and water sports, and this is the reason it gathers large crowds. You will find it on the north side of the island, a bit west of Gialiskari. Mind the weather because the beach is open to the northern winds. Behind the rocks, on the left, there is hidden another tiny beach.
- Kampos (North Ikaria): A long and wide beach a bit west of Evdilos with sand and nice blue sea. It offers straw umbrellas, sunbeds and a beach bar, while there are also some tamarisk trees but not close to the sea.
- Fytema (North Ikaria): A pebble beach near Evdilos with easy access through the main road. It is ideal for water sports while there are some taverns in the area.
- Partheni (North Ikaria): A small beach with sand and little pebble. It has calm crystal sea and it is found close to Kampos village, with the central road passing very close to the beach.
- Kyparissi (North Ikaria): A rather large and quiet beach as it lies on a secluded spot, ideal for quiet and relaxation. It offers sand and crystal sea but no natural shade, being accessed through the main road with a bit of walking.
- Aris (North Ikaria): At the end of the Aris river lies the homonymous small beach. It is very quiet and you will find it at the northeast, a bit after Karavostamo.
- Faros (East Ikaria): A large beach with sand, thin pebble and some large tamarisk trees for shade. It has some taverns and at the side there is a dock with some fishing boats. Further down lies the peaceful beach of Agios Georgios where the path leads.
- Kerame (East Ikaria): A lovely and very quiet small beach at the Faros area. It has mostly pebble and there are some unusual rocky formations at its edge, next to the cement dock. Besides crystal sea you will find some natural shade thanks to the lush vegetation.
- Ormos Nymfi (East Ikaria): A secluded beach northeast of Agios Kirikos with pebble and clean sea. It is ideal for isolation and tranquility.
- Kotsampi - Tsoukala (East Ikaria): Two pebbled beaches near Agios Kirikos, popular to the locals. Both beaches offer easy access, some tamarisks for shade, with Kotsampi being more quiet as there is a small bar on Tsoukala, mainly in the afternoon.
- Therma (East Ikaria): The long and narrow beach of the settlement in nothing special, but it is an easy swim for those who live close. All sorts of facilities offered by the village are at your disposal like taverns, shops and rooms to let.
