If vacations for you is all about vast sandy beaches then you can forget about Folegandros. All the beaches on Folegandros are small and only a couple of them are partly sandy at best, while most have small or large peddle. Other than that, the beaches are clean and the water is crystal clear. Most of the beaches on Folegandros are very similar. Have in mind that is it almost impossible to find a place with shade on the beach, so prepare to carry an umbrella or a heavy-duty sun-block. Below is a list with the main beaches:

• Agkali (West Folegandros): Agkali is the most popular beach of Folegandros, and for good reason. It is the most easily accessible beach and perhaps the best one (it is only rivaled by the Navagio beach). Consequently it is the most crowded as well.
• Katergo (Southwest Folegandros): This beach is accessible only through boat (from the Karavostasis), or some long and serious mountain climbing. A lot of people claim that this is the best beach of Folegandros. The boat goes there every (roughly) one hour and the cost is 8 Euro per person (including the return trip). The first trip is around 11:00 and the last around 18:00.
• Karavostasis / Hohlidia (Southeast Folegandros): A beach with large pebbles. Its main advantage is that it rarely gets windy.
• Vardia (Southeast Folegandros): At the other side of the hill, when you are at the harbor (Karavostasis), you will find a beach very similar to Agkali. There is a lot of climbing (stairs) involved in getting to and from the beach.
• Beaches close to the harbor (Southeast Folegandros): There are 3 tiny beaches (Latinaki - Vinsenztou - Pountaki), one after the other, next to Karavostasis (in the other direction than Vardia).
• Livadi (South Folegandros): After the 3 tiny beaches lies Livadi. It is probably the largest beach on Folegandros.
• Northern beaches (North Folegandros): Do not even think of going there if you are not driving a 4x4 or a bike, as a conventional car will not do the job. The only reason you would want to go there is to have a beach to yourself, even during August.
