Donoussa only has few beaches
παραλίες but all of them are picturesque with clean sea. Most beaches on
Donoussa are easily accessible by boat. Here are the main beaches of
Donoussa:
- Stavros (West Donoussa): This is one of the most popular sandy beaches of Donoussa, due to the easy access but not just for that. Although it is located at the harbor, its water is very clean not lacking anything compared to the rest of the beaches of Donoussa. The beach also has turquoise water, tamarisk trees and a few shops. There you will also find a cement peer from which you can take a dive.
- Fykio (Southeast Donoussa): A small peaceful beach found at the southeast edge of Donoussa, very close to Livadi Beach, while a small trail joins the two beaches. It offers marvelous green-blue water and caves in the rocks, while there is a docking bay where the boat brings the people.
- Kedros (South Donoussa): It is also called Kentros and it is one of the south beaches of Donoussa sheltered in a small bay. The beach has clean blue water and golden sand, while at the sea floor (at the center of the beach) it is possible to see the ship-wreck of a German war ship from the Second World War. A stone built path that starts from the central road will take you to the beach after a few minutes of walking. Here both nudism and camping are allowed.
- Vathi Limenari (South Donoussa): This is a small and quiet beach with deep green water and white pebbles at the south of Donoussa. It does not attract a lot of people due to its difficult access, as it takes 20 minutes of walk from the main road in order to reach it.
- Livadi (South Donoussa): The most beautiful beach of Donoussa offers turquoise water and gorgeous white sand. There are some tamarisk trees available for those who do not carry umbrellas, while the position of the beach in a south bay protects it from wind. There is a path leading from the main road that leads to the beach after a ten minute walk.
- Kalotaritissa (North Donoussa): This is a large bay at the north-east of Donoussa that hosts three small beaches, Mesa Ammos, Vlyho and Sapounohoma. The largest of the three is Mesa Ammos while all three have beautiful clean water and sand with thin pebble. The access is easy as the main road of Donoussa ends up in this bay. Kalotaritissa means good weather, which is not odd considering the position of the bay that protects these beaches from the wind at all times.
