Andros - Grias Pidima Grias Pidima - Andros Andros - Vitali Vitali - Andros Andros - Vori Vori - Andros Beaches Of AndrosThe beaches at the west part of the island (close to Mpatsi and Gavrio) are cosmopolitan, large, sandy and easily accessible. Strangely most of the beaches on Andros do not have trees for shade. - Mpatsi (West Andros): The beach at the popular tourist resort is an ideal solution for those staying in Mpatsi, as it is right next to the settlement. The beach is long with sand and some large tamarisk trees here and there. It is naturally an organized beach with umbrellas, sunbeds and watersports while there are all kinds of shops in walking range.
- Paleopoli (West Andros): A long narrow beach at the west, a bit south of Mpatsi, at the point where the ancient capital of Andros used to stand. It has nice white pebbles while there are a lot of ancient ruins in the area.
- Halkolimnionas (West Andros): A beautiful beach with easy access to the west, a bit south of Mpatsi. It has sand with pebble and calm clean sea. It does not gather a lot of people although it is rather scenic with the little church of Agios Ioannis and the stone sheepfolds.
- Apothikes (Southwest Andros): A lovely beach with turquoise water and light sand in southwest Andros, a bit after Paleopoli. It is a small and relatively quiet beach in a protected bay but without any trees and natural shade.
- Plaka (Southwest Andros): This small and peaceful beach lies in the southwest, close to Korthi village. It is laid with sand and pebble, it has stunning calm emerald water and large rocks as its borders. The landscape is rather unusual with the deserted shacks on the beach.
- Grias Pidima (Southeast Andros): The beach Grias Pidima is located in southeast Andros, in the Korthi bay, and it is one of the most photographed places on Andros. This beach is also an attraction as there is a 10-meter tall and narrow rock standing in the sea, a few feet from the coast, composing a rare sight. However, it is not only known for this reason, as the beach also offers turquoise sea and white sand. It is a small beach without any vegetation and the best way to get there is by sea, as the alternative is to cross a rough dirt road and then walk for a while.
- Syneti (Southeast Andros): It is worth visiting mainly for the stunning view and secondly for swimming. This beach has a wild beauty with the huge rocks standing vertically to the sea and the usually wavy turquoise sea, as the beach is exposed to the north wind. The beach has pebble and no shade at all, except from the afternoon when the huge rocks casts their shadow on the beach.
- Fellos (Northwest Andros): An endless wide beach with golden sand and a little thin pebble here and there. The beach is pretty much protected from the strong winds and it is found a bit northwest of Gavrio, from which it is easily reached.
- Agios Petros (Northwest Andros): It is very close to Chrysi Ammos beach to which it is very similar, with the difference that it is less busy and fussy. For this reason and the shallow sea this beach is favored by families with little kids. A small part of the beach is organized with straw umbrellas and sunbeds, while not far there are some taverns. From the beach you can see the tower of Agios Petros which is an interesting attraction.
- Kypri (Northwest Andros): A large stretch of sand near Chrysi Ammos, a small part of which is organized. There is no natural shade on the beach so make sure you pack your umbrella. Close by there are several taverns and rooms to let.
- Chrysi Ammos (Northwest Andros): It is also called Psili Ammos and it is one of the most enjoyable and popular beaches of Andros. It gathers large crowds, mostly young people, but fortunately it is so big that you do not feel crowded. It offers calm blue sea, golden sand, a beach bar, beach volley, umbrellas and sunbeds. You will find it in the middle of the distance between Gavrio and Mpatsi.
- Vitali (Northeast Andros): This beach is located in northeast Andros, but not as close to the Vitali village as one might expect. The beach is relatively large, having pebble and clean blue sea. There are no trees here for shade, as in most beaches of Andros, but at least there are some straw umbrellas. At the left side of the beach you can see the bright-white little church, while right behind the beach there is plenty of parking space and a tavern not far away. Right next to this beach lies the Gides beach.
- Zorkos (North Andros): A long beach sheltered in a closed bay in northeast Andros. This is one of the most beautiful and tranquil beaches of Andros with a large stretch of sand and green-blue waters. The beach is neither organized nor does it have shade, so make sure you carry your umbrella, but there is a tavern behind the beach. To find it head north from Gavrio towards Fellos and then to Varidi, but know that part of this route is a dirt road.
- Nimporio (East Andros): A long and narrow beach with thin light sand and pebble found right next to Chora. The sea there is clean and the beach is an ideal solution for a quick swim for those staying in Chora.
- Gyalia (East Andros): Gyalia and Piso Gyalia are two neighboring and highly popular beaches a bit north of Chora. The beach gets crowded as its amenities include a beach bar, straw umbrellas and sunbeds, while the turquoise waters are clean and the sand is white.
- Ahla (East Andros): One of the most famous beaches of Andros in the Ahla bay, a bit north of Chora. It has white sand with thin pebble which along with the emerald waters form a heavenly scenery. The sea is usually calm thanks to the protected bay but, as usual, there is no natural shade.
- Vori (East Andros): A nice sandy beach with a little thin pebble and a creek leading to the sea. The rock formations at the edge of the beach are impressive, while the sea is very clean. Close by you will find a rusty half-sunken ship which once fell into the rocks.
