You have to sit at the stairs, on giant pillows, and have your drink there, as this is one of the most famous attractions of Skiathos. Skiathos townSkiathos town is where you will spend most of your time, when you are not at the beach. You can take a walk at the graphic streets of Skiathos, or at the harbor. At the end of the harbor are the famous Skalakia, a bunch of bars built around the stairs that lead to the inner of the town. BourtziThis cute tiny islet used to be a castle. It separates the harbor in two, the old harbor and the new one, and it is the first thing you see when you approach Skiathos. It is great for a walk as it offers a great view of the harbor with all the shops. There is a coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy the sea view. CastleThis castle was built on Skiathos during the 14th century A.C. as a means of protecting the locals from pirate raids. Nowadays it only serves as a sightseeing inside of which lies a church where you may see some byzantine murals and a wood curved iconostasis. House of PapadiamantisNow operating as a museum, this was the house of Alexandros Papadiamantis, a renowned Greek writer born in Skiathos. It is hard to miss it as you go right by it as you walk on the pedestrian road. Inside the museum you may see the furniture and some other belongings of Papadiamantis. Before leaving you should visit the basement which has been turned into a small shop mostly with the books written by Papadiamantis and some souvenirs. Evagelistria MonasteryThis monastery can be found at the north part of Skiathos. It was founded on 1794 and it is built on the tallest peak of the island. Inside you can see many important artifacts, like holy icons, glass objects, china, manuscripts, etc. It also has a very interesting wood curved chancel with rich decoration. Kounistra MonasteryThis is considered a very sacred place due to the fact that, according to the local tradition, the icon of Virgin Mary was revealed to the locals by miracle. Blue Cave - Dark CaveClose to Lalaria beach are those two impressive water-caves. You can go there only by boat, but if you go to Lalaria you will go on a boat anyway so you can ask the captain to make a stop at these caves.
