Tsampika Monastery


Tsampika Monastery is by the main road. o reach the church on the mountain you will have to climb 350 long steps, but the amazing view alone to the Tsampika beach is worth it.

Palia Poli of Rhodes


The jewel of the city of Rhodes is the Palia Poli (Old City) with many attractions, like the Grand Master's Palace, the Mosque of Suleiman, the photographed Knights Street that leads to the Palace, the majestic gates and much more. Its endless alleys will sooner or later lead you to the ever busy Sokratous Street where the heart of the market beats. At night these alleys are filled with busy bars and music.

Grand Master's Palace


One of the most important attractions of Rhodes It is standing since the 14th century at the northwest part of the Old City at the same position where the byzantine Acropolis stood. The core of the imposing building is its outside yard. You can enter the orthogonal building through 3 different gates. The palace was the first home of the Grand Master and gathering point of the battalion. On the ground floor two exhibitions are hosted with Hellenistic and medieval works, while in the rooms you can admire Hellenistic and paleochristianic mosaic floors that were brought here from Kos.

Rhodes Archaeological Museum


It is located at the Museum Square, close to the city harbor, and it is housed in the two-story medieval building of 1489 that served as the knights hospital. On the outside yard the most impressive thing is the sculpture complex of a lion devouring its prey. On the first floor you will see tombstones, sculptures and fragments of statues coats. On the ground floor there are amazing sculptures, like the Marine Aphrodite, the Aphrodite of Rhodes and the marble head of the Sun God. On the garden the giant marble statue of a man stands out. Mineralogy and Paleontology Museum


This new museum was founded in Rhodes on 2008 and it is the only one of its kind in the Dodecanese. There is a total of 41 minerals from all over Greece are divided in three collection and they include obsidian from Milos, emerald from Naxos, as well as fossils of tress and marine organisms. Finally there is a specially designed room within the building for projections of documentary films. Telephone 22410 90201.

Castelo Museum


It is housed in the hangar space next to the main south gate of the Grand Master's Palace. Its three rooms exhibit paintings, furniture, sculptures and mosaics found in Rhodes from the Hellenistic until the early Christian period. Through a marble staircase can then pass on the first floor of the palace where you can see some excellent mosaics floors.

Rhodes Modern Art Museum


It is housed in an imposing neoclassical mansion of Rhodes since 2002. Its collection with over 1000 pieces is considered to be one of the best of its kind in Greece as it covers all the periods. Works of important Greek artists are included, like Giannis Tsarouhis, Nikos Eggonopoulos, Dimitris Mytaras and others.

Church of Panagia Kastrou and Byzantine Museum


It was built on the 11th century and it is located at the east edge of the Knights Street. From the decoration of the church there are very few fragments of hagiography left, like the Panagia Vrefokratoussa and Agia Loukia on the south wall. The temple also houses the city Byzantine museum.

Lindos


Lindos was among the 3 most important cities of the island and it is mentioned by Homer himself. The settlement is built amphitheatrically with a fantastic view at the edge of a cliff, while it has a Cycladic architectural style with stone-paved alleys and whitewashed houses. It is worth visiting the Acropolis of Lindos (search for the trireme curved on the rock), the temple of Athena of Lindos at the southern edge of the Acropolis, the Propylaea and the Necropolis at the hill in front of the Acropolis.

Valley of Buterflies


The Valley of the Buterflies is found close to Epano Kalamonas village at the northeast and it is the most popular natural attraction of Rhodes. It is in a scenic location with rich vegetation, small waterfalls and running water, while the area has been configured with wooden bridges, benches and artificial ponds. Every year, from June to September, swarms of butterflies gather here to mate, covering the trunks of trees and creating a colorful spectacular sight. Telephone 22410 81801.

Epta Piges


This enchanting location is not yet widely known. It is a refreshing scenery with a lot of green (mostly platanus trees), running water, a waterfall and a pond with ducks, while there is also a tavern where you can have lunch. Epta Piges are located in the mainland, close to the east coast of the island, at the height of Kolympia. If you feel up to it we dare you to go through the dark 150-meter tunnel with the running water, for a lifetime experience.

Waterpark


You will find it close to Faliraki and it is considered the biggest of its kind in Europe. It has everything you can think of, like pools, underwater gym, a wide variety of water slides and of course lifeguards. The ticket is 20 euros for adults and 15 euros for children. The park closes at 19:00 during the summer months and 18:00 the rest months. Telephone 22410 84403.

Aquarium


It is found at the northern edge of Rhodes and it is one of the best of its kind in Greece. It gives an opportunity to children and adults to experience the underwater world, admiring fish, shellfish, turtles, seals, crabs, sea urchins, molluscs and other, some of which are facing extinction. Kallithea Spring


This is one of the most famous tourist attraction of Rhodes with tens of thousands visitors coming every year. It is a historic monument with impressive architecture where you can see the Rotonda room where healing water used to come out, and other things like the beautiful mosaics. It is right by the sea, 9 kilometers away from the Rhodes town, a bit before Faliraki. Telephone 22410 37090, 22410 38404.
