Kasos Archaeological Collection

Kasos does have an Archaeological Collection, but make sure it is open before visiting, because up until today it is unfortunately closed to the public. It is located in the building which used to house the old Town Hall and it displays finds from the excavations at Poli. Some of its exhibits have been transfered to the Archaeological Museum of Chania in Crete.

Kasos Folklore Museum

Inside the Mavrikaki residence in Arvanitohori, a stone neoclassical mansion of 1905, a folklore museum has been established by the Cultural Association of Arvanitohori. The typical neoclassical style dominates inside the house. The living room and hallway have a wooden roof which is decorated with stylish paintings. In the living room, the largest room, and in one of the bedrooms, various traditional furniture and everyday objects are exhibited.

Kasos Caves

The two main caves of Kasos are Ellinokamara and Stilokamara. The entrance of Ellinokamara is fortified with a wall and there have been important findings discovered inside. It is located southwest of Fry, not far from Agia Marina. Going on the same route, a bit further uphill, you will come across the Selai Cave which is also called Stilokamara because of the stalactites and stalagmites it has inside forming columns.
