Ikaria Archaeological Museum


A new Archaeological Museum located in Agios Kirikos and housed in a beautiful renovated neoclassical building of 1925. You can witness the history of Ikaria through ancient artifacts such as pottery, tools, coins, and other tombstones, as well as a short film. In the same building you will find a collection of folkloric artifacts.

Archaeological Museum of Kampos


You will find it close to Evdilos, next to the Agia Irini church which has been built on top of the ruins of an ancient temple. The museum houses finds from ancient Inoi, from various eras, such as tools, clay figurines and pots, pedestals, tombstones, coins, and other.

Ikaria Folklore Museums


On Ikaria there are three folklore museums in total, one in Perdiki, one in Agios Polykarpos and one in Vrakades. Here you can see plenty of folklore exhibits and get an idea of life in Ikaria of the past centuries.

Theoskepasti Church


The small church of the Byzantine era is an impressive attraction as it is inside a rock cave, under a huge rock, resembling a gigantic mushroom. You will find it north, close to Kampos, right by the Theoktisti Monastery.

Halari Canyon


Before reaching the beach of Na, Halari river crosses the Halari Canyon forming a spectacular waterfall which supplies a small beautiful lake. You will come across the waterfall after half an hour walk. If you go further down the road you will find another one, Ratso waterfall, which is 45 meters tall! It is worth traversing the gorge, although passage is a bit hard at some points, in order to admire the beauty of the green landscape with the running water. The entire path until Rahes is a 2 hour walk.

Dams


The two dams, the Small and the Large one, are close to Christos Rahonin a verdant landscape with a lake and some ducks (at the Large Dam). Besides the amazing scenery you will enjoy with your coffee, the path that gets you here is also very enjoyable, with easy access through smooth dirt roads. Head towards Pezi for the Small Dam of towards Mounte Monastery for the Large Dam.

Mounte Monastery


The 13th century convent of the is now almost empty, but it is well worth a visit mainly because of the beautiful surrounding area. It is located close to Rahes, at a high altitude, in an amazing verdant location with stunning view and running water.

Hot Springs of Ikaria


Ikaria is known for its mineral springs in Therma, as the waters there are among the most radioactive in the world. The miraculous hot water springs in several places near the coast, attracting thousands of visitors, mostly elderly, every year.

Christos Rahon


Christ is a small picturesque village located in Rahes, at west, and is built amphitheatrically on the mountainside. What makes this village special is it unusual schedule, since life here begins after nightfall, with shops opening in the evening and closing at dawn. It is worth taking an evening stroll through the scenic stone-paved alleys.
