Hydra Historical Archive Museum

Situated in the center of Hydra Town, this archive holds a collection of important historical documents, manuscripts, paintings, traditional costumes and rare books. Visitors can explore the exhibits and learn about the island's past. Entrance fee is 3 euros.

Hydra Historical Museum Lazaros Kountouriotis

Housed in the former mansion of Lazaros Kountouriotis, this museum showcases the history and culture of Hydra through a collection of traditional costumes, furniture, and historical items. There are quite a few steps to get there, but the view is great. Entrance fee is 4 euros.

Profitis Ilias Monastery

Located on the highest point of Hydra Island a bit south of the town, this beautiful monastery provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere for visitors. The monastery features beautiful frescoes and offers stunning views of the island. It is a walk (around 1,5 hour) to the monastery from the town but it is well worth it. Here you can also buy traditional products made by the monks like soap and honey.

Hydra Cathedral

The main church of Hydra, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Visitors can admire the beautiful architecture, intricate woodwork, and ornate iconography. There is a small ecclesiastical museum on the first floor.

A great, different way to say Hydra island is on horseback. Harriet' horses are calm and she will take you anywhere you want to go for a truly memorable experience.
