Nimporios


This in the only inhabited settlement and harbor of Halki, with a a strong charm and a stately style. The two-storey and three-storey neoclassical houses with their tiled roofs and gabes are build amphitheatrically around the harbor. Beautiful sights that stand out are the lovely bell tower, the tower-clock with its impressive architecture, the neoclassical City Hall and the Italian-style Post Office. At the right side of the village, facing the sea, you can see the three windmills standing on top of the hill.

Halki Folklore Museum


The Traditional House of Halki, as it is called, hosts traditional dress samples, the traditional bridal bed, antique furniture, as well as some archaeological findings from the area of Halki like amphoras from a shipwreck.

Agios Nikolaos Church


This is the most impressive attraction of Halki thanks to its unique black and white pebbled mosaic-type courtyard, the lovely bell tower, the remarkable murals and of course the amazing sea view.

Archaeological Site of Chorio and Medieval Castle


A bit north of Nimporio lies the castle and the ancient city ruins. Nowadays all that is left are the walls from the ancient houses and the ruins from the castle foundations. At the castle entrance there is a crest of a great Master of the Knights of Rhodes curved on the wall. Inside the castle you can see the ruins of the church of Agios Nikolaos with 15th-17th century murals.

Monastery of Agios Ioannis Alarka


You will find it at the west part of Halki and it is one of the most important pilgrimage site of the Dodecanese. The icon was made in 1835 and the monastery is even older, while there are other monasteries in the area like the one of Agia Triada and the one of Stavros tou Xylou.

Halki Caves


The rocky and mountainous Halki has several caves. The most important ones are that at Kelia location due to the murals painted on the rocks and the Kameno (=burned) Cave where Morozini burned the locals that hid there for shelter.
