Andros Archaeological Museum


It operates in Chora since 1981 and it is housed in a plain building which was a donation of the Goulandri Foundation. On the ground floor you can see sculpture and statuses of the Classical Ages, like the one of Ermes of Andros, the syatue of Artemis from Paleopoli and the headless female statue of the great Heraclea. On the first floor the exhibits that stand out are the Charter of Magna Graecia that Rigas Ferreos printed on 1797 in Vienna, various models, models of traditional houses and all kinds of ceramic. Archaeological Museum of Paleopoli


It was founded in Andros in 2003 and it hosts finding from the archaeological site of Paleopoli. The museum is comprised of three rooms, with the first exhibiting pottery, jewelery, figurines and other small items ranging from the Neolithic Ages up until the Byzantine Ages. In the second room there are sculptures of which the most impressive if the marble lion of the 4th century B.C. and the marble complex of Bellerophon riding Pegasus, the winged horse, of the 6th century B.C. In the third room you may see inscriptions and tombstones of the 5th century B.C. up to the 3rd century A.C.

Folklore and Christian Art Museum of Andros


It is located in Chora and its interesting collection consists of three theme modules. In the first you can see everyday items having to do with the traditional household, objects having to do with the local products and professions, while the third s dedicated to the ecclesiastical iconography, the silverwork and the woodcarving arts.

Andros Maritime Museum


It was founded on 1972 in Chora in order to project and promote the rich maritime tradition of Andros. Its collection consists of wooden ship models, traditional uniforms, lithographs belonging to ship owners of Andros and archival material (charters, insurance contracts, transport contracts, naval diaries, etc).

Andros Modern Art Museum


It is also known as Goulandri Museum as it houses part of the collection of the Goulandri Foundation. Its permanent collection is one of the most important of its kind in Greece as it includes more than 300 works of famous Greek and foreign artists, like Tsarouhis and Fasianos. Right across the the main building lies the new wing with works of mainly younger artists, while during summer temporary exhibitions of international scope are held. It is found in Chora of Andros. Olive Museum of Cyclades


It is housed in two old oil presses, the ones of Helmi and Lempesi at the villages of Pitrofo and Remata respectively, which have been turned into exhibition rooms. There you are presented with the traditional ways of production and processing of olive oil in the local rural settlements of Andros during the past centuries.

Tower of Agios Petros


This tower was built during the Hellenistic Ages and it was named after the nearby village of Agios Petros. It is cylindrical with a height of 20 meters and a diameter of 10 meters, and it is made entirely out of slate stone. It is one of the best preserved of its kind with a view to the sea and the nearby islands of Cyclades.
