Chora of Kimolos Attraction
The scenic capital of Kimolos, also called Chorio by the locals, is built around the medieval castle. It is build according to the Aegean-style architecture amphitheatrically with painted-white small houses and narrow paved alleys, while some buildings have been declared as preserved. Walk uphill towards Xaplovouni to see the deserted windmills and admire the fantastic view. In Chora you will find several remarkable metabyzantine churches of the 17th century like the church of Panagia Odigitria with its 17th century murals and a portable icon of the Crucifixion of the 15th century, the temple of Agios Ioannis Chrysostomosbuilt with limestone, but the oldest one is the church of Christ built in the 16th century.
