Folklore Museum Attraction
The folklore museum of Santorini was founded in 1974 and you will find it in an islander house in Kontohori area. The six rooms of the house have been restored in order to represent the rooms exactly as they were at the beginning of the 20th century, along with their various decorations, like the gramophone, photographs, wedding crowns, clay pots, traditional costumes, etc. On the yard you can see the little church of Agios Konstantinos and the new wing of the museum which exhibits works of famous Greek artists, manuscripts, lithographies, dowry contracts and many rare photographs of Santorini going back to 1895.
This place has been closed for the past few years and may be closed for good.
Save yourself the trouble and please call/ask before heading there.
