Beaches Of Agios Efstratios

Despite its small size, Agios Efstratios has many sandy beaches. Most of the beaches (besides Alonitsi and Neraki) are found at the west side of the island while almost none of them has trees for shade, so make sure you have an umbrella.
  • Agios Antonios (West Agios Efstratios): A small beach with sand, pebble and clean sea. You will find it a bit south of the Agios Efstratios settlement and to reach it you will have to walk 3 minutes from the end of the dirt road.
  • Agios Dimitrios (West Agios Efstratios): A long stretch of sand located a bit south of Agios Antonios beach. This beach offers easy road access and that is why it attracts a lot of people.
  • Trygari / Rigari (West Agios Efstratios): After Agios Dimitrios beach you come across Trygari beach. It is a rather large, for the island's standards, sandy beach with no natural shade. You leave you car at the end of the road and arrive to the beach after a short walk.
  • Lidario (West Agios Efstratios): A lovely long and wide beach with sand. Park your car at the end of the road, at the stream, and walk for 5 minutes on order to reach it.
  • Ftelio (West Agios Efstratios): A rather long and wide sandy beach a bit south of Trygari beach. At the junction you head left for Ftelio and right for Lidario. The road will lead you right to the beach.
  • Fragkou (Southwest Agios Efstratios): A small sandy beach at the southwest edge of Agios Efstratios. It has calm sea as it is found in a narrow bay with easy road access.
  • Trypiti (South Agios Efstratios): You will find it close to Fragkou beach, at the south edge of Agios Efstratios. It looks a lot like its neighbor and it is also in a closed bay and has nice sand. Park your car and head down to the beach on foot.
  • Agios Efstratios Beach (Northwest Agios Efstratios): The only organized beach on the island is in walking distance from the settlement of Agios Efstratios. It is very popular as besides easy access it offers umbrellas, showers and beach cabins.
  • Alonitsi (East Agios Efstratios): The largest beach of Agios Efstratios is located at its eastern edge. It has sand with little pebble, shallow sea and naturally no tress. The road ends before the beach so you have to walk for about 10 minutes. Right across the beach you can see the Velia islet.
  • Neraki (East Agios Efstratios): A small closed bay at the eastern edge of the island, a little south of Alonitsi beach. It has nice sand while being located right underneath the Agios Efstratios Cave.
