Information On Lemnos

Lemnos is located in northern Aegean and it is the eighth largest island of Greece. It has a coastline of about 260 kilometers, which means there are countless beaches to choose from.

Lemnos has a lot of mountainous and seaside villages, while Myrina is the island's capital and central harbor. Myrina is divided in two districts, Romeiko Gialo (a preserved and stately neighborhood) and Tourkiko Gialo, while the castle stands on the hill overseeing the city. The center of eastern Lemnos is Moudros with its natural harbor.

Lemnos may be a volcanic island but it has plenty of green. Its soil is quite fertile and produces excellent products, such as the famous wine of Lemnos. Lemnos was considered to be the sacred island of god Hephaestus, which is explained by the island's volcanic activity and the ancient tradition of metalwork.

Lemnos is an ideal destination for quiet family vacations for those who want to relax and rest. A truly blesses place, unchanged by tourism, which has much to offer to visitors who known what they want.
