Thassos Archaeological Museum Attraction
It is housed in a 1934 building that has recently been restored and expanded. Its collection includes sculptures, ceramics and architectural remains from the Neolithic Age up to the Roman Age. The most important items are a clay jar from the Neolithic period, a plate depicting Bellerophon killing Chimaera while riding Pegasus, the unfinished 3,5 meter high krioforos kouros of the 7th century B.C., a statue of Pegasus, a head of Dionysus, a statue of a Muse wearing a veil, a small statue of Venus with a dolphin and cupid, a head of Alexander the Great, and more.
