It was founded in 1975 and it is housed in the Cultural-Ecclesiastical Center of Metropolis of 2006. The exhibits come from monasteries and churches of Samos and Ikaria island, including icons, vestments, utensils, books, silversmithing works, weaving works and woodcraft. The most remarkable items are the pontifical mantle of patriarch Gregory V, the epimanikia the Chrysostom of Smyrna and an icon of the 17th century made by Theodore Poulakis.
