Paros Archaeological Museum Attraction
The Paros Archaeological Museum has a rich exhibition with remarkable findings, most of which are made with the famous lyhnitis marble, displayed in 3 rooms and in the outside yard. The exhibits that stand out are the part of the inscribed column known as Pario Chroniko (a chronology of events of 1580 B.C. up to 282 B.C.), the colossal 3,7 meter tall status of goddess Artemis, the statue of Gorgo of the 6th century B.C. and finally the famous Nike of Paros, one of the most beautiful ancient Greek statues. In the yard you will see the Phoenician type anthropoid sarcophagus, the only ones of their kind in Greece, and part of a mosaic of the 3rd century B.C. depicting the labors of Hercules.
