It operates since 1994 in a new building of Mytilini village. Many of the exhibits, millions of years old, belong to dozens of animal species that once lived on Samos. You will see bone and teeth fossils, with the ones standing out being those belonging to Samothirio and a rhinoceros skull. Inside the museum there is also a mineralogy department with 300 samples of rocks and minerals, a section with marine exhibits, a botanic section with approximately 3000 dried plants and a zoo section with stuffed animals and birds.
