On the southeastern part of Kalymnos, close to Vathy village and almost 12 meters above the sea surface, there is the Daskalio Cave, where prehistoric findings were dug up. Other caves are the Cave of the Nymphs, also called Cave of the Seven Virgins, and the Kefala Cave to the southwest, decorated with huge impressive stalactites.
