The Archaeological Museum of Chania was moved in 2021 to a new modern larger building in Chalepa area. It hosts large collections of mosaics, vases, statues, jewelry as well as various exhibitions like the Mitsotakis collection. If you get tired it is worth taking a brake in the museum cafeteria, as it also offers a nice sea view. Entry costs 6 euro and the summer opening hours are 8:00 - 20:00 (except Tuesdays), but is also valid for the Chania Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Collection, the Kissamos Archaeological Museum and the Aptera Archaeological Site.
