The byzantine castle of Pothia was built during the 11th century and inside it has about ten little churches of the 15th and 16th century. In Chorio village there is another castle, the Pera Kastro, also called Chrysoheria Castle (from the icon of Panagia with the golden hand). Walking up to the castle you will come across 3 stone windmills, and inside the castle you will see remains of several buildings and houses.
